Welcome to the Texans Can Academies Student Nutrition Services Department! We are dedicated to supporting your child's education and a healthy nutritious lifestyle. The SNS department is made up of skilled food and nutrition professionals that are dedicated to fulfilling our students' well being by providing appetizing meals daily.
Texans Can participates in The National School Breakfast/ Lunch & After School Snack Program and offers free breakfast, lunch, and snacks for ALL students.
We are a Community Eligibility Provision * program participant and no longer require meal applications.
*The Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) is a non-pricing meal service option for schools and school districts in low-income areas. CEP allows the nation’s highest poverty schools and districts to serve breakfast and lunch at no cost to all enrolled students without collecting household applications. Instead, schools that adopt CEP are reimbursed using a formula based on the percentage of students categorically eligible for free meals based on their participation in other specific means-tested programs, such as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF).
Every campus in the District shall be a closed campus. This means that students cannot leave campus to get lunch or have lunch delivered. Students who violate this District mandate or leave campus at any time without administrative approval shall be subject to disciplinary action in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct.
